Get a mic!

Just wondering how many here have a mic or are planning on picking one up. I highly recommend it. The level of squad organization you can achieve with everyone having one is amazing. 3 guys all on mic working together are worth the rest of the team. I almost wish it was mandatory to have one - it makes that much of a difference.

Mics not only help with teamwork (immensely) they add a whole lot of immersion and comradery to the game.

Have a plantronics headset as well as the logitech headset that comes wiht the bf2 pre-order for early orders on gamestop.

I agree totally, the squadwork part of bf2 is what clinches it for me as being an epic game, and a mic is essential.

I tryed putting it on their like a regular headset and it was to small, so I figure your supposed to put it on like a weird way or something? Can someone explain?

just got mine last thursday ...I'm loving it so far ..the sound is crisp but I havent had a chance to try out the microphone

Is the pickup threshold set low enough? In the sound options there's a bar that dictates at what volume level noise will get through, and that's used in conjunction with pressing to talk, for some reason. I just set it to 0%, so it picks up everything that I say when I press the button to talk.

Can't wait to hear you all in game. If you haven't had practice in cooperative teamplay and giving out clear commands/observations with a microphone, you will definately get it in this game!

And the cool thing is that everyone that has used Voip with me has been really nice and cooperative. It makes you want to throw your body on that grenade for them. I was just assuming that everyone would be an ass and scream in your ear the whole time. Hasn't happened yet.
