What happens... If you were to stick a fool in a room. With the cieling slowly lowering down on em. What will happen to the enemy man? Will the second the cieling touches him, willl he just drop straight into ragdoll mode and fall? When shit drops on you how will it determine what will only hurt or kill you. Also in mp, you think you could drop stuff on people? Or kick a box into their face?

We are busy with steam so no one will care to answer your question for a while

We won't find out until the game arrives.

I'd imagine characters would react to something exerting force on them in an appropriate way, ie. a ceiling crushing them. If you remember the traptown video where the box falls on the combines, you'll see that the guy that get's crushed by the yellow pipes actually gets crushed and crumpled to the floor.

Each phyiscally simulated object has mass. Therefore it's similar to the real word. If a pencil dropped on your head, you wouldn't feel a thing, but if an anvil dropped on your head, you'd know about it. Gordon weighs something like 88 pounds including the suit according to Valve.

There may not be a kick feature in HL2, but it's a design descision not a technical limitation.

I can't believe I'm answering this. All objects and materials have programmed values. Boxes, barrels, people. Everything is given properties. When you fall in HL, the game measures how far you fell, and applies a value to that. In HL2 (assuming things can fall on you) the engine will determine how far it fell, what it was made out of (metal, wood) and then apply the damage. If the damage is greater than your total HP at the time, you will die.

No clue about a room w/ a ceiling that crushes people...wtf?
