getting ai to work in dm?

I have been on servers where the admin spawns a npc(which i know how to do) then he sits there for 2 minutes putting in commands and then all of a sudden the gunship/strider/zombie/ or anything else attacks people. I spawn NPC's with some friends in a server and i tried several commands and i can't get any of them to move around. This guy even got DOG to run around the map and put some gunship flying around. It was fun. It was almost like coop.

This does indeed sound awesome.

As far as spawning things, it's not that hard.

npc_create X

X is where you put what you want to spawn. Here are some examples.

npc_zombie
npc_metropolice
npc_strider

I wouldn't use the zombies, they tend to crash the game, use the metro police.

However, if some one finds out how to give spawned AI the ability to attack and such, please post.

How to Spawn NPCs Access the console, type in "npc_create npc_" and replace the name with one of these: cscanner rollermine poisonzombie mossman monk metropolice manhack launcher kleiner ichthyosaur headcrab_poison headcrab_black headcrab_fast headcrab helicopter gman fastzombie eli dog pigeon seagull crow combine_s combinegunship combinedropship citizen breen barney barnacle antlion alyx antlionguard stalker strider vortigaunt zombie zombie_torso

No guys!!! I know how to spawn NPC's!
I want to know how to make them attack in deathmatch!
I tried ai_disable command already. Didn't work. I tried coop 1. Didn't work.


I'm trying to figure out how to get them attack in deathmatch. I have seen other server admins do it. It is possible but i need to know the command(s)

Yes, please tell us. the only fun i've been able to get was spawning a zombie with 4000 health and manhacks with 800 damage.
