Getting high ping and lag!!

I have broadband and even I do not get lag in other games expect CS: Source and HL2 DM, also I go on UK servers with a low ping.

And still get lag I even come from the UK and running broadband 576KBPS also I am not running it though a router.

I get pretty high pings in CS:S and HL2DM too and i got 2mbit. The games require much more bandwidth than the old games..

"Getting high ping and lag"? Try getting high ping without lag .

Disable your firewall and see if this helps.

Just check it for a moment and you will see if that's the problem.Then you will ask someone more wise on this topic than me, which ports to leave open. It's not so likely for someone to attack you at that time and blow your computer up. You could as well be afraid of walking down the street as you can get mugged or hit by a car. :]
