getting kicked in HL...

I have a strange problem where if I join a steam HL based server (CS, DOD, HL) I get kicked within a minute or two. I posted on the steam forums and emailed valve but that didn't go too well.

I don't get an error message other than this in my console, if i even get that
"Host_Error: UserMsg: Not Present on Client 13"

Could it be a video problem? I had this problem before, but then i cleared my hard drive for an unrelated reason and i'm still getting the same problem.

Anyone have any idea what this might be?

If you have installed new router firmware it may be your problem

oh wait, i checked and my router is a BEFSR41 =/
