It totals to 410 with shipping + tax, but with mail in rebate, i get 50 off.

How is are the parts i ordered? I made sure they are all compatible and all, but can someone double check?

Also, how much power will all of these require, considering standard other pc parts.

Last, will this rig run most and future games on high with no problem?

Shouldn't be too demanding for power. This shows 190 watts used with an Nvidia 8600GT and Intel X6800 CPU. Probably 20 watts more than that for a system with an AMD X2 5200 plus whatever power for optical drives and extra hard drives.
Just make sure the power supply has close to 20 Amps on the +12V rail (sticker on the PSU) since that is where most of the power will be pulled from.

I didn't know that. I believed Intel was superior in gaming.

Also in other certainly useful news, I read the thread name as "getting new pants".

So I'm immediately recommending getting a Core 2 duo e6850 @ 3Ghz. I'm going to get that :D. I don't know the price in US dollars.

OH MY GOD I loved the E6850. I'm sorry I'm just really excited. :D Coming between this week and next week I think!
Edit: Well I tought the Q6600 was better than the E6850. I'm surprised.

And in some cases it is, it depends on what you do really.

Intel
Core 2 Duo = dual core
Core 2 Q**** or QX**** = quad core

AMD
X2 = dual core
Phenom (in yellow) = quad core

FYI you made a good pick if your budget was $100 for the CPU. Would have to pay twice that to get equal peformance from Intel. But on the other hand AMD doesn't offer CPUs that perform quite as fast as Intel's at the high end.

Isn't it better to get the 5000+ Black Edition? Same price as 5000 but can easily be overclocked to >3Ghz on air, apparently.

5200 > 5000

Also, black edition doesnt come with fan or heatsink

5000+ Black edition comes with 2x512KB L2 cache Vs. 2x1MB 5200+ for $20.00.
Beware, If you don't know what L2 cache does; I'll just say 2X1MB L2 cache worth the twenty.

Good Luck.

I believed Intel dominated the CPU industry O.o !! BBQ
