GFX Card Questions

I'm upgrading (as many people are) for HL2. I want to get the top end of graphics possible.

I will be buying a 3.2GHZ Intel processor but I'm stuck on which GFX card to get.

Also does the 9600 pro support DX9?

how much you spending on the GFX card? That card you listed is the best you can get, I didn't note wether its the 256 or 128, eithers more than fine.

The 9600pro is just a 9800 with 4 pipelines and not 8. Has just about the same DX9 capabilities. The best 9600pro is the Tyan model

Just avoid all nvidia cards, check around the forum if you haven't heard

The 256mb and 128mb models are almost identical, as is the 3.2 and the 3.0 P4. Save yourself $400 and get the 128mb and a 3.0 P4.

Look again, it's 128MB Version. Plus.. It would be fine. I hear that the Hercules cards are great with the exception of bad customer service, just hope nothing goes wrong..
.. I'd also suggest powercolor, FIC, Built by ATi and Xtacy. But if you're looking for something that looks cool, there's the sapphire 9800 ultimate, the gigabyte and the hercules.


edit: it says 256, but the model pictured is the 128.
