Every time I connect to a server, about 10 seconds into the game, I get dropped saying "Connection to the server has been lost".

I thought I was lagging out...but I had 50 ping. D: Dunno what is happening.

You might have a low latency but high packet loss. You can find some online tools for checking your connection quality at:

http://www.broadbandreports.com/tools

Line Packet Loss Testing might be of interest.

It could also be all sorts of spyware and whatnot on your computer--but I assume most people check for that these days--or just a computer that can't 'keep it up'

I also find it odd that every other game I've tried on teh internet, *Guild Wars, Counter-Strike* work perfectly fine...I figured for Guild Wars if I had high Packet Loss, I'd notice it while around other players...

I had that issue with my wireless router back when I played with you, I resolved it by replacing router firmware.

Manually update your punkbuster and see if it helps in any way.

Im actually betting it's my router...it's a piece of junk :(

What it says right before I crash. We updated manually, downloaded the setup.exe and used it, nothing. NOTHING! D: help plz. Oh, and if you know, use exact folder placements and stuff....so I do it right this time! :(

After constant attempts at getting punkbuster up to date, I've given up. I've tried it all. I'm just reinstalling BF2, and hoping that it will help.

Indeed, I'm willing to bet it's your router too. I wouldn't bother reinstalling, it's likely a waste of time. Have you tried what I suggested (replacing firmware yet)?

I don't dare to replace anything on my router...I'll wait till my network knowing roomate shows up..he'll do it. I'm not the only computer, I have a wireless laptop and a DS and what not running off the router. I'll let him fix, if this reinstall didnt work.

Gar, reinstalled and I get the same PB errors :(

I think I fixted the problem, not for sure though, got banned within 45 seconds of playing by an admin yelling, "KILL ME AND I BAN YOU!" so I pegged him with an AT rocket.

I still saw some PB errors, but it didn't kick me this time, so we'll see how it works with more than a minute of unbanned time. :(

Ah! I figured there would be a thread on this error. I have it too, and it's annoying as hell!

I updated Punkbuster manually, it still happens. Not as quick as it does with Pitz, but it still does it a lot.

So how did you fix it? I'm desperate D:

I disabled my firewall, then ran the PBsetup.exe, and it seemed to have worked fine after that. I had the NVIDIA firewall that came deafult with my mobo.
