Ghost Recon 2 type mod for Half-Life

Anyone know of a potentialy good Ghost Recon 2 like mod for HL2?

No, Counter-Strike, though I still love it, is different from Ghost Recon 2. Ghost Recon 2 is slower, and more squad based. Counter-Strike is more run-and-gun, while Ghost Recon 2 is more 'look, slowly go around corner, and shoot that guy all the way down there'.

You know, there was a Ghost Recon 1.
Differences between Ghost Recon and Counter-Strike:

• Ghost Recon is made for stealth and wide, open areas
• Ghost Recon requires some Goddamn teamplay and strategy
• Ghost Recon has more involving missions; ignore them and you'll die
• Ghost Recon is "class-based" and everyone need to know their role for it to work

And, in personal opinion, Ghost Recon is a great game and Counter-Strike isn't.

I havnt played Ghost Recon 1, so I dont know what its like.
Back to the topic. Anyone know a good Ghost Recon 2 like mod?

Well the Insurgency mod is supposed to be slower-paced. You might like Hostile Intent for HL1 also.

Insurgency won't be a high-tech modern shooter like GR2, but it's modern combat with the emphasis on the infantry elements. I'm not a fan of GR2, but a fan of GR, so you may enjoy INS once it comes around.

If you're looking for a slower, more open, war mod, check out Cold War: Melting Point. Not quite the same time setting as GR2.... but hey..

ghost recon takes like 1 hit to kill


i got your back it would be a good idea a free version of ghost recon on the source engine sounds promising

In ghost recon 2 there is also like a 1 hit kill. Sometimes that gets very annoying and difficult to play.

Definitely check this out. It looks great, is steeped in atmosphere, and should have fabulous campaign modes.

ghost recon 2 < ghost recon 1 - now, gr1, there's a game that should be updated in source, cause it's hella ugly, but a damn fine game
