Give me a job. I've been out of work since November and it feels like I've applied for everything.

I can't sit on the direct gov or Scottish jobs today sites anymore. Recommend me something. Tell me what you do. I'll ****ing well apply for it too.

become an internet scammer

This, if you can live on £1 a month.

I can't think of any serious suggestions.

Unless you have an outstanding CV, nobody is going to give a shit about your online application, especially in this current climate. When I look for a job, I always call up and speak to the relevant person, and I aim to get an interview there and then on the phone. An application sent cold is easy to ignore and doesn't stand out. Total waste of time.

Also, temp work to keep your hand in. It's going to get harder and harder the bigger the gap in your CV.

With my current experience doing taxed work that the government knows about..... I cannot get a job where I live with my qualifications. Without a doubt.
If I knew more people here I would seriously just like sell weed or something again.

Become a lumberjack, and i'll buy you a shirt.

They don't pay well if you don't match the beating quotas.

there must be a government run program that caters to people in your age group in your neck of the woods. Many companies hire summer staff that way. get an internship (look on college job boards). or volunteer at a company you'd love to work at. Hit the pavement with your resume and go to companies that you'd like to work for, ask for a tour, ask for employmennt or even internship opportunities. you need to market yourself and be proactive in your job search. glancing over the internet in you pajamas at noon isnt going to land you a job

Sorry you're having difficulties Cormeh. :(

I survived off temporary employment services for 5 months before I found a permanent job. Not sure if they do that sort of thing where you live, but they're very handy.

You should hit the Pavement
With your Resume
One Day
I was out
Hitting the Pavement
With my Resume
I asked the Bank for a Tour
Only to hit the Pavement
In a very different way
Now when I go out
Into the Fray
Hitting the Pavement
With my Resume
My Neighbors stare
And say
He should have applied online
In his Pajamas
At Noon on that Day

Mickey D's is ALWAYS hiring.

I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR A LECTURE MR OLD STERN I SHALL GIVE YOU THE HAIRY SIDE THRICE OVER SIR.

Look guys, the whole suggestions about how to go about getting a job is a bit patronising, I'm not a complete idiot.

I'm just BORED and thought I'd maybe get a few laughs from helplife2.net.

ya I know. I just played the stern father role a little too well. sorry didnt mean to come across as patronising :)

volunteer at a company you'd love to work at.

I would never recommend you do this and don't fall for any unpaid trial bullshit. At least in Australia unpaid work is illegal. If a company doesn't give you an interview based on your resume you haven't got a chance.

a friend of mine did his 2 month intership at Rogers cable (canada's largest media provider). a year later he's was a manager making $60 k a year (this was about 15 years ago)....not bad for a 20 year old with a single year of college under his belt

Just give up and become a leeching deadbeat with a drug habit.

East Lothian! We should set up a random shop in Musselburgh with a cashline, and charge people £2 to get their own money out.
