"...former Gizmondo executive Stefan Eriksson has been involved in a high-profile accident in Los Angeles which destroyed his $1 million Ferrari Enzo sports car, following a crash at more than 120 miles per hour during an alleged street race."

idiot ...he's lucky to be alive ....but wait it gets stranger still:

"the LA Times is reporting a more serious turn in the case as the local sherrif's office reports that a gun magazine was found nearby and that it may be connected to the crash. Law enforcement also believe the car was traveling at 162 MPH before the crash, much faster than the 120 MPH that was originally reported. Finally a Scottish bank has informed the sherrif's office that they may in fact be the real owner of the Enzo."

did he shoot out his opponents tires?

He is lucky to be alive and more lucky to have not killed someone.

I dunno about the gun magazine though. It is LA we're talking about here I would think bulllets grow on trees around there.

Yea, I believe this is the 3rd wrecked one, bringing the tally down to 396 remaining.

I don't blame him one bit though, if I had a car like that it would be driven, and when I crashed it would be the most spectacular display of carnage and mayhem this side of kill bill.

Heh, I read something interesting about this, 4 high-up Swedes in Gizmondo, used to be part of what was called Uppsalamaffian, they've all been convicted of very heavy crimes, such as extortion etc...: )

so they're pretty much like every other business man ;)

Yup, one was even "nicknamed" Torped, i.e. Torpedo/Assassin/Hitman

People are weird, I've never seen my mom go above 65mph before.

So i guess the SLR won then.......

oh, and if anyone finds a desktop-sized pic of that engine sat in the middle of the road, please let me know.

It's only rare because Ferrari made 400 of them...

Anyways, people who drive super-cars that aren't rally, grand prix, or F1 drivers, should be shot

anyone who can afford to spend $1 million on something so stupid should be shot, and then his assests should be given to charity ...yes I'm being serious!

WHAT!? He's still Alive!? Those cars are like paper. I feel more sorry for the car then the guy.

Wow, that engine went far. good thing the engine is in the back though, that probably saved his life. After the engine seperated, the rest of the car is a tin can.

Week old news rocks! Oh and I really doubt he spent $1 million on it, unless he bought if off a person, Ferrari didn't even sell them from 1 mill.

yes it can cost more than 1 mil

and it's not old news because I included the recent update to the story which is from today:

"the LA Times is reporting a more serious turn in the case as the local sherrif's office reports that a gun magazine was found nearby and that it may be connected to the crash. Law enforcement also believe the car was traveling at 162 MPH before the crash, much faster than the 120 MPH that was originally reported. further proof of idiocy:

"MALIBU, Calif. Police are looking for the driver of a red Ferrari Enzo that was totaled in a high-speed crash Tuesday on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

Investigators say the driver lost control of the pricey automobile at a high speed and the vehicle disintegrated after striking a power pole.

A man who told authorities he was riding in the car survived the crash with only a cut lip. He said the driver ran into the nearby hills ........A three-hour foot and helicopter search failed to turn up anyone connected to the car.."

The guy was drunk street racing, if the prick hit me with the enzo, I would claim the front half and make something with it, then ask for 500k in damages/whatever else I wanted.

olds news for me

still what a idiot, learn to drive

Jeesh, well aslong as I never see a wrecked DB9 I think I'll be ok

If i have to die of anything other then old age then a high speed accident in my million dollar ferrari whilst reciveing head from Angelina Jolie would probably come in at atleast top 3.

:O Burnzie...your avatar...is that legal?

Wait, PM me if you just did what i tgink you did...

At first when I read it, I kid you not, I thought "So he wrecked because he was reading while trying to drive?!" until I realized it meant gun magazine as in the ammunition kind, not something like "American Rifleman Issue 13" or something LOL

Wow Gizmondo really was a big fat flop reading Wiki, he probably was trying to kill himself in style.

heh actually he claims he wasnt driving ...so he could have been reading a magazine ...or shooting out the tires of the mercedes

and he's an ex-ceo ...he made his money and ran

I usually drive 75-80mph on the highways here in Minnesota. Speed limit is 65.

Posted speed limit in alabama is 70mph.

I'll do 80 and still be getting passed on freeways.

Anyway, so he wrecked his car, oops. At least he was driving it and didn't stick it in some stupid garage like people did with the f40 and f50.

What the hell? Speed limit on interstates is 75mph here your mom would probably get run off the road and then shot for impeding traffic by angry motorists!

Except I don't live in the US :P Speed limit on the highways is something like 55-60 here.

Gizmondo can afford a $1,000,000 dollar car? How many did they sell, like 2 units :P

As long as it's only a stupid Ferrari that was wrecked and not the Mercedes, one good thing came from it.
