Ok so today i went out a brought the half life episodes pack wich includes episode 1, episode 2 and deathmatch. I installed all of them the i downloaded gmod 9. I installed it but every time i try to go into it, it just says " Prerairing to lauch garrys mod 9". Do i need to download that sdk base thing? Please help

OK, firstly start posting new threads in the right section. Next time you get it wrong you'll get an infraction. Read the forum index page, is it really that hard to find the 'help desk' section? /Thread moved.
1. Gmod 9 (the last free version of Gmod) requires one of the following games to be installed: Half-Life 2, Counter Strike: Source or Team Fortress 2
2. Source SDK Base as well (under tools tab)
3. If you have all of the games installed above you will have more items to choose from when playing Gmod
Other info
1. Garry's Mod 10 has many new features and is constantly updated and infinitely better than Garry's Mod 9.
2. You can play online with a massive player base.
3. You need a Source game to play Gmod 10 too. (list here), you said you own Episode 1 and Episode 2 so you will be able to play Gmod 10.
Note: Because Gmod 10 uses models from all source games (Day of Defeat, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Portal etc...if you don't own any of these games you won't be able to use these items in garry's mod 10. You own the Episodes so will have all the building abilities but only Half-life 2 models / items / props.
