I just bought a HP D4260 printer which is compatible for vista and 64-bit. I start installing the software and it says "turn on the printer and plug it in" so I do...and nothing happens. I can't click next or anything.
I wait for about 10 minutes, still nothing. So I download the most recent version of the software off hp.com; and the exact same thing happens.
So then I try the "add new printer" vista way, and it works but then it still wont print. Apparently it's set to LPT port 1. Even though it's plugged in through the USB. I try and add a new port but it asks for the ports INF file...
Pissed off, I plugged it into my laptop and had my file printed in less than 2 minutes with NO problems. Why the **** can't vista recognize a ****ing USB printer!?
