I like that one better than BSOD. Also, this is why I decided to learn how to build and maintain my own computers. Even manufacturers' support teams do this, so when you call up dell or gateway or something, they essentially do the same thing, and say something has gone bad, rather than find out what the actual problem is.
my friend used to work for a independently owned computer store, they did a lot of major network installs and phone systems for office buildings, hospitals, and stuff like that. He said geek squad (a best buy was about 10 minutes away) used to bring computers to him ALL the time.
He openly admitted to ripping customers off, because basically they didn't care. They were doing half million dollar installations for hospitals, they don't need your $100 for more ram. So you pay best buy to fix your computer, best buy took it to my friend, my friend ripped off best buy, and then best buy has to add more to the bill so they can make money off you.
Wonderful isn't it?
p.s. although my friend actually is brilliant with computers, he didn't just reinstall windows when something went wrong.
