God of War for ps2

ok, when i first saw the commercial for this game, i laughed. i thought "hey, if theyre not showing any in-game shots, the game must suck". That is until i read a review on ign.com. they gave the game a 9.8!!!! Thats higher than hl2. i decided to go out and pickup the game and guess what? its amazing! if u have a ps2, get this game. if u dont, u are doing a diservice to mankind and the gaming community. buy it!

if u can find another game where they did this, id be happy to know... all i do know is that GoW deserves the rating.
Boobs, Blood, and gore. what more could u ask for in a game?

No...its not just you. Hmmmmm maybe I should look into how good this game actually is, but I won't be doing that because I don't have a PS2, maybe it will come to Xbox.

well... ign also gives a reader review score (9.6) and a press average (9.6) so i dont think that there is much of a bias on their end. gamespot gave it a 9.3 but i generally dont agree with gamespot's reviews. IGN is a pretty reputable source as every game theyve given over a 9 i have thoroughly enjoyed and every game rated above 9 is worth a buy.

Resident Evil 4 = 9.8
Half-Life 2= 9.7
Devil May Cry = 9.6
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory = 9.6
Metal Gear Solid = 9.6

IGN certainly aren't as hard to please as others critics thats for sure. I can't speak for most of the games but the only ones i've heard of being up in the high 9's could be Resident Evil 4 and thats it. From everything i've heard and read from other reviews, they place all those games in the high 8's to mid 9's. And as you can see, only one game there is below 9.5 and thats Brothers in Arms, which i also hear is very overrated.

The game is killer! I haven't seen a game that was this blatantly gory since the Mortal Kombat series, but this game cuts short on the lameness. T3h boobies in the cutscenes. But back to the carnage, it's a hack-and-slash that'll keep you popping your eyes wider and wider as the games progresses, as your character finds newer and more creative ways to punish monsters and evil soldiers.

Plus you start right in on the action and you can pick it up instantly. Tearing guys in half when you grab them. Impaling giant aquatic hydra heads. Doing matrixey-slowdown block-counters and combo attacks. Simply awesome.

This game is very cool. I picked it up a few days ago and I still love kicking ass in it. I love the Greek Mythology background. Ares looks really cool
