God of War! Just beat it. Amazing Game. Check it out.

I just beat one of the best games of all time. The storyline was phenomenal, the gameplay super fun. The CGI movies insanely detailed and brutal. Who else thought this game was amazing?

Very very long game as well. Thought it ended like 3 times lol.

Now i need to beat it one God Mode to unlock all the other stuff. I wish i could watch the ingame movies as well. I know, i know that's a little to much to ask for i guess but it would have been great.

Btw don't really know if its special but i had everything maxed and the 2 muse keys found and used at the end.

Life/Magic and all spells and weapons maxed.

Didn't use Medusa's gaze at all. And only used Zeus power like 5 times when i had no choice. I had Zeus's and Medusa's power at like level 1 the whole game lol.

I mainly used the the sword and blades of chaos. Spell wise rage and hades army was the shit.

So whats the news on God of War 2?

Oh and btw the reason i'm so late on this game was well as many of you know I'm a pc gamer that recently got back into consoles. There was no point in getting a ps2 with the ps3 around the corner so ya. I got to say tho playing on a 60'' sony xbr2 on HD was INSANE. Especially for the CG movies.

GoW was excellent but I felt that some of the puzzles were somewhat cheap and frustrating. Thank God for the fantastic checkpoints though.

NO WAY. One of the gorest games iv EVER played not to mention its ****ing BRUTAL!

Mortal Combats fatality's got shit on this games finish moves.

It has RPG eliments like decided what to power up and so on but very little of it matters really. If you are good at finding secrets you can power up everything throughtout the game.

Its not a easy game tho.

CheckPoint system is at its best ever tho.

Fighting against Ares was kickass! Also, fighting to protect Kratos family against clones of himself was awesome.

Yup, this is one of the absolute best games of the current generation (I say 'current' because the PS2 has some incredible titles still to come this year and is far from losing its place atop the console mountain). Plus GoW is only $20 new right now!! You simply couldn't beat it if you tried!!!

If you want similar games then check out Shinobi, Rygar and maybe Blood Will Tell.

In general I would recommend any of the following PS2 games:
Ico, Stuntman, Klonoa 2, God Hand, Okami, Bully, Devil May Cry series, Virtuous Fighter 2, Gradius V, Ys: The Ark of Naphitism and so on.

Great game. But not as good as Raziel says. After all, its Raziel, he loves everything. It must be a very fun life when every game is so awesome. Although seriously, God of War is a fantastic game. Shame its only about 10 hours long, and its also a shame that there's so little replay value.

Also, fighting to protect Kratos family against clones of himself was awesome.

Something I thought was going to be frustrating, as I hate to protect NPC's as they tend to be as intelligent as a paralyzed retard, was actually fun to play. I liked how you could hug them so their life meter would increase at the cost of yours.

The battle against the Minotaur is one of the best boss battles I've ever played and I'm not the guy who particularly likes any boss battles in general.
Pretty much all the boss battles in GoW are very spectacular and fun to play, and not very hard either (except Ares can be a bitch).

Ares battles was ... disappointing. I wanted a truely epic battle like if you actually had to battle him at normal size (maybe Shadow of the Collosus style...) but what they did felt very 'meh' to me. Can't complain though, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and was a complete blast. Can't wait for GoW2, but in the back of my mind, I want GoW3 (on the PS3) even more.

and if you like rpg then I recomend shin megami tensei nocturne,is not so "nerdy" like other rpg's,and seriously if like games whit original looks and original stuff like that then shin megami tensei nocturne is a good choice,dont know if is still on sale cuz I hear it sold very litle in the USA

I wasn't so crazy about God of War. The game was way too short and easy. It took me 8 hours to beat it and I was pretty much able to use the same combo for 90% of the game.

Also, the higher difficulties give no real incentive to play on. In DMC games you get to keep your stuff and upgrades and the game is STILL challenging to get through. All God of War did was like triple or quadruple enemy hp and cut your hp by the same factor.

I wish more games could offer the content Ratchet & Clank games do, higher difficulty, more game features and content for further playthroughs along with your previous equipment.
