another great review for this game which is released in europe this week, friday for uk & eire.

Is there an area where God Of War doesn't excel? Truly, no

It's no exaggeration to report that God Of War is easily among the best-looking games we've ever seen on any system, never mind the supposedly humble PS2.

When the dust settles on the PS2 era and it's time to sit back and reflect upon the system's best games, God Of War stands out as an absolute colossus that towers over the competition - on any format. It not only deserves to become part of any gamer's (not just PS2 owners') collection in the immediate future, but will be held aloft as one of the true greats of this generation. It's not often a game just comes along and floors the competition, but that God Of War does so in such breathtaking style is incredible. For the love of God, buy it.

9/10 from eurogamer with no bad word at all to say about it, this coming from eurogamer who can be criminally hard to please at times, particurly with 'lesser' systems like the ps2, so is the game really this good?

i'm thinking of getting it this week but have read lots of bad things about it, like its very short with limited replay value, the main character isnt very symphatetic(some might like this), its like prince of persia: ww on steroids in the gore department, its repetitive, its all button mashing with context sensitive kill moves at random scripted times, its easy?....etc

thoughts pls?:)

I play it and I love it

the only bad things is that it dont hav much replay value but it worthy

is very original and hav a epic feeling that very few games hav cuz its looks that the creators hav worked hard on it and is really worthy

is you want info on the character well maybe this will be consiedred spoiler but I dont think so much

is a big son of a bitch that is able to kill hes mother if is necesary to complete its goal

I think that the best description

and about the gore and stuff well is a game in the acient greek times so you will see a lot of swords cuting and splatering blood (sometimes very exagerated) and stuff like that
and in my opinon is not so short but is satisfiyng

and the boss fight are great

so overall I recomend you to atleast give a try to this game

Sweet game :) Quite short, not much replay value, but still very good.

Certainly one of the better games to come out recently.

Buy, buy, buy!

I have it, and it's really great. Can't stand the tearing in it though. Needs VSync-age.

Sorry, I hated it. All it was to me was a hack and slash, with some puzzles thrown in. And if I may ask, if EuroGamer had nothing bad at all to say about it, why did they give it a 9, not a 10?

I played it at a friend's house. I thought it was pretty fun. I only disliked the dodging method. You had to use the right analog stick to dodge.

Very good game.

Had a certain, indescribeable, old-school charm to it. And boobs.

coz no game gets a 10 from them, well except hl2, they do it all the time though, mgs3 for example is like their longest review and they praise it all and give it a 8 or sumit.

I'd say rent it. It was certainly very entertaining for the first couple hours, but after awhile the gameplay was just tedious. I kept playing it solely to see how the story would unfold, but it stopped being enjoyable for me after:
when you get to the upper levels of the temple on the giant's back

It was actually God of War that made me realize hack-and-slash games don't hold my interest anymore.

you get to **** a girl from behind to solve a puzze I think.

Haha. No.

There's just one scene where you run around a room with two bare-chested ladies.

Yes, that is in the game.

And i rented GoW and beat it in 3 days. And it was one of the best console games ive played in a long time. I wouldnt buy it though, because like already stated, after you beat it you know the storyline and its just a pure hack and slash. But being a hack and slash was AWSOME in this game. Different combos with the sickest weapon you could have gotten (two blades attached to your arms by chains, plus another weapon...but i wont spoil it.)

Definatly rent/buy/steal/give oral sex...... for a chance to try this game!
