If true, I don't support this at all. It is impossible to recapture the magic of the original.

Site doesn't load in IE8. And if you tell me to use firefox I'll choke you.

Use Chrome.

Also it does load in IE8.

If nothing else, I really want that Klobb.

Why the Klobb of all things? D5K Deutsche is way cooler. Or the Phantom, even better holy shit.

It's a fake weapon too so like, more child friendly.

Because Ken Lobb, idjit. You don't screw with Ken Lobb.

Chrome sucks.

And the error I get after the site loads is operation aborted and then it goes to a can't display page. Happens on some other sites too.

Don't use IE.

I don't like this news. I'd rather Rare remade it and stuck it on the 360.

Rogue Agent.

i was excited for approximately 6 seconds until i read the post...****ing shame

Wasn't THAT bad. I disregarded any ties to 007 and played it like I would any other game and it was decent at best. Agreed on X-Files though. That one RE style game they released on the ps2, X-Files: Resist or Serve was awful.

I chose the Klobb because I would rather have a real Klobb-shaped wiimote shell than an imaginary Phantom-shaped wiimote shell.

:p

lol that was the game I didn't think was that bad, oh well ;)

Does anyone know if the original is on Virtual Console? If so, that's probably a far better choice.

*goes off to play Golden Eye on his N64*

no its not, i'd kill for a hd rerelease like perfect dark

If you're talking about the real gun, you know it's not actually called a Klobb, right?

Exactly... No little kid with a Wii would even care about GoldenEye. That's like the worst console to pick.

It's on Wii because Rare has a lot of console loyalty to NintendOHOHOHOHOHOHAHAHAHAHA

I couldn't keep a straight face saying it.

Why is Ross even playing games anymore? lol.

I didn't have an N64 as a child; it was all Playstation, Crash Bandicoot and Batman Forever. I did play Goldeneye, however, and I think once you get by that nostalgia...nay.

Come on, Golden Eye dragged the genre forward a generation or two single handedly. Look at what we were playing before hand. Visiting Perfect Dark again on the 360 - which is pretty much Golden Eye with another skin - shows just how well the gameplay still holds up and how revolutionary it was back in the day. I think this all stems from deep-seated resentment towards the kids at your school that were playing Mario 64 while you had to settle for Crash Bandicoot!

Yeah, it's easy to reel me in :p

Looking back at the time I spent playing (hell, just waiting for my turn to play) 4 player Golden Eye, it got pretty ridiculous. ~cherished memories~

ITT Samon is going to hate on our childhoods, but deep down, he'll know

I don't know whether to feel anger or pity. A little of both, I suppose. To call Goldeneye "overrated" is literally the worst slap in the face you could give to a game that defined FPS on console.

The objective-based missions, the graphics, the location-based scripted damage animations in a time before we had ragdoll physics, the weapons, everything about this game at the time was flooring. And the main draw, the thing that keeps love for the game alive in people, the multiplayer...I simply cannot understand how someone could call Goldeneye overrated in the face of its multiplayer. You say you've played Goldeneye even though you didn't have a 64, but I can hardly believe it. You must've had no friends to play it with; perhaps you played it on a kiosk at a game store, or something.

Who could call grenade launchers in Archives "overrated?" Who would say proximity mines in Complex is just "nostalgia?" Who doesn't remember scrambling around frantically in Temple while the golden gun was in play? Or running around Caverns with the Moonraker laser? How about all the house game types you and your friends could come up with? All the laughs, all the "OH WOW!" moments, all the rage when everyone rushes to pick Oddjob.

Goldeneye truly is one of the best games ever. Not just one of the best N64 games, or one of the best FPS games (console or otherwise), but one of the best games period. To call it anything else is an indication that you don't know the game very well, and/or you've simply got bad taste. Even to say that you had a playstation, I'm sure most people here did as well, including myself; yet Goldeneye was such a masterpiece that it reached beyond console war bullshit. When you and 1-3 friends gathered around for Goldeneye, it was the time of your goddamn life. Nobody could be a hater on Goldeneye no matter what console you were rocking.

Temple + Grenade launcher = Entire afternoon

Making a tower of mines jutting out of the wall by stacking them on top of eachother.

Why isn't Rare in the market making more games, they made Goldeneye AND Perfect Dark, two pure examples of what an FPS is supposed to be, they'd be blowing most other games out of the water. Why the HELL are they making games for the Wii :|

because they got bought by Microsoft and from that point on made a few mediocre games.

As long as KI3 isn't a Wii exclusive, Rare can do whatever they want.
