Does anyone know of a good free Auto-Back Up Program for external hard drives?

Mine came with Memo or something, but it isn't free so I don't use it.

Why not just select files then drag/drop them? Not being a smart-ass, but I don't get the concept of an auto-back up program. Is it like RAID?

Shouldn't you be leaving the external off most of the time, except when you need to use it? They get hot easy, and then they die easy.

Auto-Back Up programs update the files and folders you selected for your "back up plan". So lets say "Pictures" is on the back up plan, and I add a bunch of pictures to my Picture file on my computer, it will also automatically add them to the Pictures file on my external.

Or more importantly, say, you have a folder full of important text documents, and you need to change one of those, once you change it, the change will be applied to the back up on the external as well, instead of you deleting the old one, and pasting in the new.

I'm pretty sure that most backup programs do backups at scheduled times, and they dont monitor for changes. So if you change something on a file during the day, it may not get backed up until like 3am or whatever time its scheduled to make the copies.
