Anyone know what's a good and not too expensive fountain pen? I'd just like to use it for day-to-day writing, but I'm also prone to losing pens so I don't want to spend more than 50 bucks.

Fake Mont Blancs.

I got given a few of those as gifts, although they were unwanted :hmph:

Does it need to be 'good' or can it just be a plastic cartridge pen from a stationary store?

just get a parker vector or some other parker pen they are gd enough for day to day stuff

I used to buy those £5.00 Parker pens, but I tend to lose them, so I buy buy biro's now. Stay away form fountain pens these day, too much hassle with cartidges and ink leaking. Biro = 99p, no prob. And it doesn't smudge either.

Can't believe I'm talking about pens.

The thing is, and I don't mean to hold myself up to high, I have very good handwriting and I want a fine-tip fountain pen to match it.

I love <Sheaffer>. I've had one during highschool. Very sturdy, even the cheaper versions, and they write almost like a ballpoint on velvet. I'd get brown or blue-black ink, if I were you. Looks classy.

Thanks for the on topic post, I'll definetly look into it.

I don't think I've ever used a fountain pen... but if you go to staples or something (you are in cali, right?) just get one of those four packs of ball points, the nicer kind. I like bolder sizes, like .7 or 1 milimeters, and be sure to get gel ink so it doesn't smudge. Lovely :D

Ehh, I hate ball points, nice or not. I decided to get a Lamy Safari, I've gotten a lot of reccomendations from fountain pen connaisseurs :).

Still, go for the blue-black ink. It's much more stylish then regular blue or black.
