Yeah I know, once I buy a game, I want to be done paying for it. It's so stupid, and its the main reason I don't play mmorpgs. Also because I don't really like rpgs.

lol @ people who wont play games because they have to pay this is a lil off topic but damn mmorpgs charge because the servers they use are totally different to the tiny little ones used for an fps

Not only that but mmorpgs typically have to fix bugs constantly just like fps's do, but they have bigger "balance" issues, ongoing updates, world updates and changes, "monster" updates, etc.
The biggest issue with mmorpgs is going to be "balance." Something you really don't have much of in CS. In CS you have T's and CT's. Balance means having the maps fair for 2 sides, or at least having equal number of good maps skewed to each team.
In mmorpgs, you have elves, dwarves, humans, clerics, warriors, mages, thiefs, assassins, archers, and every other iteration possible, and they all want something new and exciting every month.
For CS I assume the biggest problem is hackers. mmorpgs deal with that as well. But there is a bigger incentive to hack in a mmorpg. Because everything is continual, it's constant. In CS when you exit the server, everything is gone. Your K ratio resets, etc.
Also, try selling a AK-47 on Ebay. Or a TMP. Or a desert eagle. What, no one will buy it? Go on Ebay and you can buy thousands of items for use in a mmorpg. Yet another reason to hack. Find a way to create multiple "rare" items, sell them on Ebay, and now you have REAL money. Can you do that in CS?
Anyhow...I've never been charged for a map, or any download. That's something unique to YOUR ISP. I can't think of any ISP that still charges hourly rates, or worse, for downloading.
That's another thing...you'll pay $30-40 a month for internet access, but won't pay $10/month to play a game? I don't consider $10/month a lot...my electric bill varies by at least that much every month.

Had to comment on this last one. I think it's sad that some of you people wouldn't pay monthly for the game you love to play. I wish all the VALVe games were pay2play, as that would almost completely eliminate the 10-14 age range. Can you imagine? Noob numbers split in half, no need for VAC2 anymore! God, what a glorious day that would be.
