i have thought of a very good new g-man theory, it goes like this;
basicly the g-man's employers are apeture science and they had somekind of technology or weapon that they were planning to use to take over the world, the weapon was hidden inside the borealis untill apeture science were ready to use it, when they were ready they used teleportation technology to transport the ship to the location were they were planing to use it, but the teleport failed and teleported the borealis to an unknown location (the arctic) the government would not allow them to go on an exebition to find it so they were obviously very pissed. the g-man was an alien creature that came to earth in a
non-physical state looking for a body but he could only find a human body, apeture science
kidnapped him and used him for their own ends, because they could not find the borealis they thought of a plan; they used the g-man to start the resonance cascade at black mesa triggering the alien invasion, they then ordered the g-man to find survivors (e.g gordon/ alyx) and bring them under their control and ensure they survive the combine invasion. they later planned to control these people through the g-man to find the borealis while there was no government to stop them, only the combine, whom they used gordon against.
once they had found the borealis they planned to use it to take over the world for themselveswhich explains why eli was so obsesed with destroying the borealis, he knew what would happen if apeture science got their hands on the weapon because of his involvement with the g-man, Dr kleiner knew nothing about them and so wanted to use it against the combine. eli's death had been arranged by the g-man so he could not warn gordon any further about the borealis.
once their mission is complete they plan to realease the g-man from their control but he will be to powerful for them and take the world for himself.
