I just finished building myself a new computer. Here are the specs:

-Asus P4P800E-deluxe
-PentiumVI 2.8 w/ 800fsb
-2x 512mb DDR400 PC3200 Samsung
-120Gb ATA100 WD1200BB 7200rpm
-LiteOn 52x32x52
-Creative Sound Blaster Live! DE5.1
-ATI Radeon9800 128Mb Pro
-PF775B PerfectFlat ViewSonic Monitor
-Antec TruePower 430watt

I got it all for $1200. Now I need some speakers. I have the small budget of $90-$100 so are there any good 5.1 speakers for such a price range? Probably not, never know. What about 2.1? I know very little about speakers so some explaining about what makes speakers good would be nice. Also how good is my sound card? Suggestions please. Thanks.

I got a set of 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers with a subwoofer for $10 at staples. Funny thing is, HP is selling them for $120. :D

I like the $55 Logitec 5.1. They look nice and you can't beat the price. Could someone who owns a set tell me what they are like? Though if they have 5 stars with 433 votes at Newegg I can't see them being bad. I was planning on spending $90 for nice 2.1 so I definitly won't get cheap-@ss $10 speakers?!

They aren't cheap ass speakers. The origional price for them is $70, but I got them down to $10 after rebates and crap, and they were brand new. You just have to shop around, you can find some awesome deals that way.

now that i mention it, my friend has those exact speakers. theyre just like my sexeh z-5300's, except no remote control, and not as loud or as much bass power. but the 5.1 sounds crisp as hell. when i say not as loud i mean it cant go as loud as mine can (mine can probably bring down a building, or be used at a club)

Sorry Sedako, I wasn't kidding when I said I knew nothing about speakers! Thanks for the advice guinny, I think you already have me sold on the Logitech Z640 5.1 Speakers. Great Price.

glad i could help. unless asus comes in here and owns me.
