im looking for a program that can record games, but not lag in the same time. i used fraps before and it lagged even on HL1.
good recording program?

The console! Just type 'record DEMONAME' (without the brackets, of course) and it'll start recording. Don't worry about file sizes, most of the time they're about 500KB. If you want to stop recording, either disconnect or type 'stop'.

yeah i know about that, but i need a program that goes from game to .avi

I'm not sure about hl2, but in hl1 you need to type in these commands.
First record your movie as a demo.
1)record x //where x is the demo name.
2)stop //stops the recording
2nd, record the movie
3)startmovie x y //x=the name of the demol; y=the fps to be recorded
It will make, depending on the length of the movie, thousands of bmp files.
You will need a program such as videomach to gather all the files and make them into and avi.
