what youre asking for isn't techno, techno is it's own genre (repetitive beats, mechanical/robotic in feel).

i'd say downtempo, psy, ambient, chillout?

A lot of the best electronic artist have a few great songs in the style you're looking for.

Southern Sun is trash? Oakenfold is a pretty mediocre producer but that vocal track makes for a classic. Try some remixes.

In regards to the original poster,
The best suggestion so far is probably Shpongle and Boards of Canada. Aphex Twin and Amon Tobin I would hardly consider psychadelic. Then again they both attempt a very broad range of musical styles and as such are very hit-and-miss. All of those artists, however, are pretty far away from the dance side of what most people consider techno. I'll give you some names from the other.

Armin Van Buuren (Trance)
Pendulum (Drum n' Bass)
This (House. Absolutely love this track.)
Sunchasers feat. Yana Kay - Remember Me (Drum n' Bass, a single song)
This (House. However, there are better remixes of it that sound more ethereal.)

I'm reluctant to give you more house stuff considering you wanted psychadelic but keep in mind that is probably the most talent saturated genre of electronic music right now. Do you mind vocals?

I don't care for "Southern Sun". Or any of Oakenfold's material, for that matter. Unless some remix completely rapes the original track and turns it into its bitch, I'm not interested.

Pendulum, another artist I've seen people get into a craze over recently, is the same.

the ambient remix of southern sun is great. it, together with quite alot of chillout remixes of trance/techno got great nostalgic value for me though, which is why i enjoy it. the original track is pretty crap though. the only oakenfold track i like is ready steady go.
