Some of you may already have known this, but I have enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an AECF(Advanced Electronics and Computer Field) for six years(possibly more). A field in which I know I'll enjoy be trained in. I ship out on the 7th of this month, which is only a few days away. I'll be stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois for both basic training and schooling. I've been training for a few weeks now in preparation for the physical training in boot camp. I'm both excited and slightly nervous for what is it to come, but I'm sure it will all be beneficial and provide great opportunities for when I'm out of the service.

I've enjoyed my time here at halflife2.net as one of my most visited forums. Great people, great laughs, great times. :)

This is joule, signing off. See you all later... much later.

We'll still be here in six years. See you then.

I'll miss you buddy :p good luck!

Good luck.

The Navy's certainly a tough branch to get into.

Have fun with that..lol You are getting stationed in a crap place, feel sorry for you. My brother once out of A-School next month hes getting stationed in J-Ville, FL for a good long while needless to say I'll be going down there a lot. Get warm climate ASAP if you can..

Good luck Joule! I keep having to remind myself you're a guy, because I think everyone looks like their avatars.

Is your training free?

I'll be sad to see you go Matthew, I've had some great times talking to you in the past and I wish you the best of luck in your future. Hope we speak again and that the Navy takes you in a new life direction. All the best, see you when I see you.

I hope you get internets there. Krenzo (The coder of Empires) works on a nuclear aircraft carrier, and he has full internet access. By the way, you're going to HATE Duty Days :D

congrats, I wish you luck.

I was sworn into the Canadian Forces Thursday with the 31st Combat Engineers (The Elgins, which predate the confederation of Canada) Although I'm doing it through a Co-op program through my high school (returning for a extra year) so I can also help my parent's restaurant get off the ground.

The seventh is the same day that my ten-point infraction comes off. Have fun in the Navy.

Awww.... GL. :)

By the way, how much do you get paid in the navy? I get curious about those things.

Have fun being gay.

LOL, srsly tho, gl hf :)

Shit, man, no internets? Good luck, Joule; my thoughts are with you.

Don't get killed.

Good luck being a mercenary trained to help the military machine slaughter thousands in the interests of the profits of a few fat cats.

Hope you can live with yourself when you come out.

Good Luck, joule :)

We'll all be waiting for you right here in six years :p

Be careful if you're going into a war zone, k?

I'm enlisting as an E1(lowest possible rank) and my paygrade will be about $1300/month. Rank and pay increase the longer I serve.

Keep going for those officer spots :O

Good luck mate, take care. I had a cousin who was in the Navy, he really enjoyed it.

Yes, because that's what he will be doing for an Advanced Electronics and Computer Field career. Read the entire post next time, and even then read/look more into the military/Army before you go off on some pseudo politicial correctness crap and you'll soon see that it's not all combat and infantry.

Yeah, I hear enough of that, TheAntiPop. People automatically assume that if one is enlisting into the military that they are going in as an infantry and risking their lives out there on the frontlines. OMG DONT DIE OUT THERE DUDE!

GO KILL YOU SOME BITCHES!!!

Nah, enjoy the Navy. I've got a friend who is in the Air National Guard who is doing some stuff with the UCAV's in Las Vegas. He really enjoys the work.

^_^
