They were right. Google has become not only a verb but also a profitable company with a reported $1 billion in sales. It is expected to be the hottest initial public offering this year. And now Google is preparing to offer a free e-mail service, people close to the company said, in a bid for Yahoo's most important source of loyal customers.

me too lazy to read it all, but how much space will this email service have?

And just after the new Wired magazine has a cover story on Google... talking about how it can take over the internet. :P

It seemed to be more of an announcement of their intentions... I don't think they have the specifics down yet.
 
Sweet... I don't need another e-mail address... but I need letters@google... need it...
 
Bah ill stick with hotmail, as much as google is useful, its easier being with hotmail since most people are with them so its quicker to send email
 
Google will get really big, then Microsoft will buy them out and make them part of their current setup and the service will fall dramatically

I'm on the look out for other decent search engines before that happens
 
Well, this may be my only chance to sign up to an email adress with Suicide42 not allready been taken. Its a load of BS, some 1 else has made an account called Suicide42? and even if they have, i hear Suicide44442222 is also taken, etc. etc.
 
Amazingly at current estimates microsoft couldnt afford to buy out google!!! :o

I don't know if thats good or bad news, good for google, but possibly bad in other things :(


Also I hear google is a real bad one for selling email addresses (I spot a pattern) I don't use any of the web based email providers cause of the amount of spam and most of them banned from being used elsewhere, like hotmail.
 
I use hotmail as its pretty spam free now what with M$ going on the spam warpath. Just make sure you dont sign up your email address to anywhere dodgy.
 
I only use hotmail for signing up to crap that I need to sign up to, and then for MSN.

I think I'll l definitely get that. it'll gimme some incentive to actualy check my email since I use google so often.
 
Hah, I too am going to rush in and grab a specific address, but I'm not posting it here. You realise now that everyone's gonna try nab ifeelgreat? :P
 
it's gmail and it's out (beta) and it has 1gb of storage just so you all know.
