Gosh Durnit, is there anyway to make PvP-only characters in GW not SUCK.

Excluding the PvE grind, I'm not a big fan of that.

But yeah, I really just want to PvP with a character that has decent skills. But I mean, Ranger created characters don't even start with PETS? Funk dat.

umm, pvp chars rock, in fact, before i stopped playing i had 3 pve chars which i stopped using pretty much completely and only had a single slot for a pvp char and i just typed up my builds and get them in organised txt files. :)

Sure. Use one of the prebuilt characters to earn faction (by winning matches in Random Arenas, Team Arenas, Guild vs Guild, or Heroes' Ascent), and spend that faction on skills and other unlocks at the Priest of Balthazar.

Having said that, the "PvE grind" is a much more efficent way to unlock a lot of stuff quickly.

What he said. The new prebuilt PVP characters are great.

I agree though, unlocking skills in GW takes a ghastly long time.

Learn to be a good monk and go to random arenas.

If you want even more faction to unlock more things, get the required skills to run an IWAY warrior and see if you can get into a team (which is pretty difficult if you aren't rank 3). You can get 300 faction per win (25 * 8 + 100) or 400 if you flawless them.

Finally you can always make a trapping build and trap the zaishen elite mission for 1k faction per day.

wait, they haven't nerfed iway ? i haven't played in a few months but i thought that was suppose to be changed/made more balanced.

They fixed the attack speed going higher than 33%. IWAY now only works if the ally is in the radar, which didn't really do much to help.

IWAY sucks. So many counters. If you want to play a warrior, be a shock warrior.

IWAY is actually a lot more stronger now. With Order of Apostasy, which strips an enchantment per hit, using things like guardian or aegis is pretty much rather pointless if one of the warriors is lucky enough to hit through it.

A good IWAY team is difficult enough to kill with constant spirit spamming, traps, and 4 warriors pressuring people. IWAY isn't going to die out since it is an excellent pressure build.

I don't mind IWAY, in fact, I used to play it quite a bit (Though not usually with those random pick up teams who are just farming faction/whatever, that's the only lame part about IWAY) and it's fun as hell to play against [and beat] but that's hard with a pickup group.

I miss being on vent/ts listening to someone coutdown to a Spike.. please tell me spike groups/builds are still popular, they were starting to dwindle though they were incredible good (Especially Air spike, hot damn that was unpopular though it owned, in fact, all the 'uncommon' spike groups were awesome, like with some of the necro spells).

I really, really, really want to get back into GW but that'd mean I'd have to buy Factions, play through all of that and after playing through that I'd have a tiny idea of how it's going (What items are worth what, the trends, common builds and so on) which is soo freaking/annoying hard to get back into. :( I'd also have to find a guild, I was in a < 150 ranking one but I'd have to take a bit to become good again.

Do you think it's worth it ? If I leave an [MMO]RPG I tend to not come back.. and what the hell, is the next chapter thing alright about to be released ?

Spikes went out of fashion as the dps sucks so badly.

IWAY wont go out of fashion as it's a simplistic build, but Wards own IWAY.

Factions has some great MP stuff, and for PvP is well worth it (the additional skills help a lot) the classes are okay, the assassin gets a lot of stick cause it's not that powerful frontliner that is the warrior, and the rit is nice powerful support class.

Nightfall is on the horizon but damn it needs some work, the Dervish is totally broken and if allowed into the game DerWay will be around for a long long time.

Blood spikes are still one of the most popular builds (and the ones that can hold halls easily), and there are tons of rainbow spiking groups which can destroy just about anything if you don't react fast enough. Spikes never died, our guild runs FoC spike in HA, which is how I even got to rank 3.
