Im going to school this fall @ ITT for CEET. BUT im not there yet so i have little experience with taking computers apart and being able to put the back together and them still work! lol but i took apart my old old old pc its a Hewlett Packard Pavillion 6636 it had a 13gb hard drive, ive been told that i could put it into a USB type thing and use it on my current pc for a little extra space for music. what i need to know is what is this USB thing ive heard of? is there more then on? and which one do i need to make this work? lol im sure one of you guys know.

The thing you heard of sounds like an IDE to USB cable but I am not sure they exist, and too lazy to check.
Just go get a small 50Gb external drive. I'm sure they are dirt cheap.

yeah they do exist i found some. and they 50G exterals are cheap but id rather use this little 13G instead of just throwing it away until I need more space then ill go out and buy a big one.

Are you looking for an external hard drive enclosure?
An empty box to put the HDD into and then take it to any PC with a USB port and plug in the power adapter.

That one is for the normal 3.5" hard drive size. Which is what most desktops have in them. If it was a notebook hard drive then you would want a 2.5" enclosure.

i found what i need im going to go out and buy a bigger hard drive for my computer and just use the 13G for my xbox360 thnks guys.
