Sorry but your first car should never be anything nice. It should be some kind of shit box. What the hell does a 16 year old (?) need a nice car for?

At my school the least expensive car is probably a brand new BMW.. most people drive Cadilac's and Lexus' (All '05), and there are several Mercedes and such.. gotta love private schools.. not a person over 18, and all super nice cars.. it's absurd.

im 18 :P next week...
and i used a " box of shit " car , now i got my very own car , a brand new one :D

and Guys life in Kuwait is completelly diffrenet from your lives over there, its not normal here if your dad didnt buy a car for you when you gradute from high school.

i dont really see it ruin anything , dad bought got me a present cuz im graduted

doesn't really matter if it's normal or not, it's just illogical! doesn't matter where your from, if any of your cars is bought for you then it ruins the aspect of money managing for most your life.

thats a pretty blanketed statement which you cannot back up. there are plenty of people who get big gifts who are smart enough to manage money, and then there are very poor people who can't even manage what they have properly.

yeah my first car was an uber peice of shit, then i blew it's engine 2 days after i got it. but now i have a nice car. and a nice bank loan.

You are a dumbass. :|

I bought myself a 1990 Ford Ranger. Little beat up, but it runs. Going to have to take it into a shop to fix a transmission issue soon though. But it's got a year or two of life left in it.

That or because they suck.

edit: the latter, really

o and disturbed am i a dumbass eh? did ur parents buy u ur first car, or any car for that matter? answer truthfully now.

Yes they did actually, but I am buying my next car. Can you even drive? I mean your statements are illogical as hell. Parent's might've bought my car but I pay for everything else I do but insurance. I don't go run to mommy and daddy 24/7 to buy my things, I work for it myself.

End note, you're just jealous someone has something nicer than you have. So you decided to call a bunch of bullshit on him/people for no apparent reason. I suggest you jump out of the thread while you can, because you're just making yourself look like an "illogical" ass.

The people who advocate that being bought a nice car while young is a bad thing - would you appreciate it if at 16 your parents booted you out the front door and told you only to return once you had money, and that you must repay them in full for the cost of their parenting?

Do me a favour. Sour grapes, fookoff.

Until you actually have bills, and have a place of your own, you really cant comprehend what i am saying to you.

Yes I can comprehend quite well. You are jealous of other people and just call it illogical thinking you're so smart you keep doing so.

the reason you guys cannot consider any other point of view and put your defenses up, is mainly due to b/c you guys have not experienced the other side of the coin.

What other point of view? You don't have one, you made a dumb statement and I commented about it.

@Shadow6899: I bought my own car, granted...but I seriously doubt that $500 meant much to me. I saved it while I lived at my parents house. Did that teach me anything about money management? No. I'm currently going onto my 3rd year of living on my own, and going strong. I've only missed one bill one month, and that was my insurance. I just didn't feel like driving to the other side of the town...yeah, I'm lazy at times. Anyway, the comment of if you're car is bought for you, it ruins money management is complete bullshit. The only reason I don't like it when people get their cars bought for them is because they get a brand new car for doing nothing :(

You're logic is skewed, and completly wrong.

disturbed-Well b/c you think it's dumb doesn't mean it is, just maybe it shows your lack of maturity to grasp what im saying?

and once again saying that im jealous is wrong i stated sure i may have a minor jealousy for the fact i wish my parents were well off enough and together to buy me a car. My grandparents easily could, but they wont b/c they want me to learn. Just like they didn't buy any of their kids cars. But my uncles are buying cars for their children so i dunno. Sorry i dont agree w/ your point of view but o well.

Oh sure it shows my lack of maturity that everyone also think your statement is flawed, like I said jump out of the thread before you continue to make yourself look like an ass.

Your grandparents easily could but they won't because they want you to learn? What a crock of shit I've ever heard. Obviously its your "uncles" that has the money not your grandparents.

Thats an ok car I guess. My mom has a 300c, now that car is cool
