I wanted: AMD ATHLON XP 2800+ 2.08GHz
I got: AMD ATHLON XP 2600+ 2.13GHz

Big differance?

well, i'm not really loking at the stats, but off hand i'm gonna say the 2800 has a higher FSB...

Its the same i think
AMD ATHLON XP 2600+ 2.13GHz FSB333 512K Barton

AMD ATHLON XP 2800+ 2.08GHz FSB333 512K Barton

if they have the same FSB, something's wrong there... You might have the 2600 and the 2800 switches around...

damn so noone knows if those 2 cards are a big differance

Something is wrong there, they can't have the same fsb, the same core but have different speeds. I'm to tired to try to find out the difference, but I can tell you that there's something wrong.

Okay, the Athlon XP 2800+ listed is correct. Correct clockspeed, correct cache size, correct FSB, correct everything.

The Athlon XP 2600+ is listed wrong. If it is a Barton core, the processor would have a cache size of 512 KB, 333 FSB, and a clock speed of 1917MHz. If it is a Thoroughbred core, the processor would have a cache size of 256 KB, 266 FSB, and a clock speed of 2133MHz. It sounds like this retailer got their numbers and facts all mixed up.

sHm0zY does the CPU run at 333fsb?? If so you might want to try overclocking at ive clocked mine from 1.91GHz to 2.37GHz which is around 3400+ speeds (guess)

i dont have it in my machine yet.. thinking of asking if i coudl take it back and add 40$ to it to get the 2800+

yeha but i dont have verry many cooling things i dont want to fry it...

and i duno how to over clock

LOL I JSUT REALIzED THIS
Model:2600+ | Speed:2.08 Ghz | Voltage:1.65V | Multiplier 12.5x | FSB: 333 Mhz | Die Size: 84mm^2

no more wories LOL

It's the 333FSB Thoroughbred 2600+, it's one of those! lol
There have been 3 different versions of the same 2600+ CPU btw, yours is the 2nd version. ;)

It will perform a little lower than the 2800+ but different with different applications.
Some apps the gap will be very narrow if they like clock speed, since they both run at just over 2GHz with 333 FSB.
The apps that like L2 cache more will show the difference to be more the like 200+ rating suggests.

I'd keep your CPU actually, unless you would like the extra L2 cache on the Barton core.
