My friend bought a gps (Magellan eXplorist 500) and he can't get any maps for it. It has a standard north America base map, but apparently Hawaii isn't considered part of north America.

So my question is, how would my friend go about getting maps for his gps? I see products on the magellan website that appear to be maps, but they cost about 150 200 USD. A single map can't cost that much, can it?

I don't think that would be considered computer hardware...

Well, it's a gps, a piece of hardware, and I figured you guys would know best 'bout this kinda junk.

Please, just try to help. My friend is damn near PMSing over this. He's so pissed.

Ehm, well I'm not an expert GPS recievers, but just poking around the site, it seems this would cover it -- for 100 USD. Returning it might be a better option... Seems silly to get a world base map just for a few islands. :p
