All i want to know is if a lets say Radeon 92590 256 pci be able 2 run hl2. I know pci sucks but my comp blows and i dont have any agp or pci-e ports and my intel)r) intergrted 64 meg wont run hl2 it exits by itself in loading and i dont know if i buy a new mother board if my ram supports it or how 2 remove the cpu if any 1 wants to help me on the the specs 2 my coputer are at this url
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...roduct=425921&lang=en&cc=us&docname=c00189894

r u asking if the radeon9250 is pci and that is a no but u have to get a mobo that is socket 438 i think for pentium 4 and u have to get one that supports the same ram unless u want to spend more money

no i know its pci but can it RUN HL2 not run it good just run. And how do i take my processor out isnt it saundered int there, and itsa a celeron not pentium 4

yes it will run and ive never heard of a pci version for the 9250 only agp and pci-e

If you can get the 9250 in pci, then yes, the card is capable of running HL2. That doesn't mean that the rest of your system is up to the task! HL2 works the cpu pretty hard, and it likes lots of ram. What are your system specs?

Your Celeron is not soldered in, and it is easily changed provided your motherboard can support the chip you are upgrading to, however, the fact that you asked that question tells me that you should to a bit more research before getting out the tools! ;)

look on the site he posted i have similiar system and hl2 runs fine

well i have a crappy intel(r) intergrated 64 meg and when i try 2 start u the game it gets to the laoding screen of the blurry city then exits out of game by itself no error message and here is the radeon 9250 for pci http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=316268&pfp=BROWSE.

I have done research and do u think this mobo will work with my system(system specs r in link in 1st post) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=596316&CatId=182

And do u guys think this is a good video card thatll last me 2 years or so http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1020526&Tab=0&NoMapp=0

no that mobo wont work because a mobo with 3pci slots is Matx board and ur case wont fit it unless u buy a new one as in a larger case or just buy a matx board with an agp slot.

that video will be ok for mabye a year but dunno about 2 yrs

Oops! Sorry I didn't see the link!

Yes, your system should be able to run HL2 just fine with that card, however, in spite of the 256mb it is not a very powerful card. Don't expect to be able to keep up for very long. It can barely run
Doom3 from the benchies I've seen. Games released in the near future will likely be too much for it.

Don't waste your money on a mediocre pci card. Buy yourself a new mobo, and proper ATX case, and then get into a good midrange AGP card.

Do you guys have any sugested mobos if you do post a link

And by mAtx do u mean Micro ATX

yes u need to buy an ATX form factor case if u want that mobob in the link u showed us or continue to find a matx but they sux though u cant put much in there if u have like a modem and sound card

Thanks do you tink i should just get that or get a whole nother mobo( thats what i asked 4 2 be suggested links on 1st post with my specs) or would this card be powerful enough for 2 more years(so i can get a job)

in 2 years lots will change . the games in 2 years will use a lot more powerful cards and processors than now.

you'll need athlon 3500+ or pentium 3.6ghz or more X800 or geforce6800 1-2gb ram to keep you going for next 2 years
