One day I decided to go through all the "Can you run it?" games to see.... well if I could run something. I basicly saw what I expected for most of them but there is one thing. My graphics card is pretty budget (Radeon 2400 HD Pro) but on "Can you run it" it says my graphics card memory is 865 MB. Am I right in saying this is quite good? I'm confused.

I'm not sure why that test is reading your vRAM as 865 mb, as the HD 2400 Pros only have 256 mb. Even so, having a high amount of vRAM does not equate to a powerful card. The GPU is what does most of the work in rendering, shaders, and physics. High vRAM helps when playing at higher resolutions. Your card's GPU is on the low end compared to other recent cards.

Oh well. It will do me for now (playing counter-strike). Probally will upgrade it at one point.

Those systems requirement things do that occasionally. One once told me I had about 11gb of video ram ^_^

counterstrike isnt a very demanding game so it shouldn't be a problem.

Hey Giant, on a totally off topic tangent, I see that you have a 7900. My brother in law has one or rather had one, as it died. He sent it back (& i'm 98% sure it was an EVGA) and since it was a known problem with the 7900 line of cards, they replaced the card with a 8800 320mb model for free. Still, the 8800 is a kick ass card. All he paid was $7.50 for S&H. There was a recall over a year ago for 7900's. I'll double check with him, so don't get your hopes up, but your card caught my eye & thought i'd pass on the info. He sent the card in last week & got the 8800 2 days ago via home delivery from I think he said UPS. Since all the good shit seems to happen to him, I didn't really listen all that closely. He posts here on these forums, so maybe he'll read my post & either tell me i'm a lying piece of shit or confirm what I told you.

Shared system memory I would guess.
But I don't know shit about what I'm talking about, so I may be wrong.

Yeah, it could be. Or even virtual memory. Either way I wouldn't read too much into it.

that was only for the 7900gts. there was a problem with the samsung memory or something. i would love a free 8800 though lol but my card is running just fine.

My new card has been doing weird things in Source. Ever since I got it it likes to reboot my computer about 30 minutes into a source game. Are there any known issues with the Radeon HD 2600 pro?
