Ive had my computer for two years now and decided to get a new graphics card. Its a GeForce 9600 gt. but I don't know if it will run on my computer...here are my specs. Im not too good with computers.

Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 @1.3GHz
Memory: 1 GB
Vista 32 Bit
Motherboard: ASUS P5N-E SLI
Current video card: Nvidia GeForce 7600 (lol)

any other info just let me know, thanks

If you're not sure that the card is compatible with your system, you may be interested in having someone walk you through the installation process. It's incredibly simple once you've done it, but it's also easy to do irreparable damage.

ok

Im fine, i checked up with some friends, i was really only worried about it fitting but its a PCI and I have the slots for it. Thanks anyway

Please note the difference between PCI and PCI-e(xpress), it's a common mistake.

Also, I wouldn't recommend buying a new graphics card with your CPU. Your CPU is very slow and not worth the upgrade, it will be hardly able to fully power your current 7600GT.
Just get some money and buy a new PC :)

i am getting a new computer in a year so ill just transfer the graphics card, but yes i know the difference in PCI and PCI-express.
