Expect low/medium settings, if you have a decent CPU and a gig of RAM.

EDIT Ah, I see you have a gig of RAM. How about the CPU?

I know nothing about my motherboard or any of that crap, My computer was custom made, the best everything you can get, and it was made in 2003, so it's the best comp form 2 years ago..

How on Earth are you getting good frame rates on BF2 at medium settings with a 5600 fx?

He is asking if its good enough to run atleast on medium, not that he runs it on medium already. And to answer your question, my old 6600GT did just perfect on medium, with some other things on high.

i have a GForce 6200 and i run a lot of things on medium in BF2

my 9600XT CAN run medium..but something is bottlenecking some things, so it stutters alot. It can run Source on all High...in difficult situations. I know it can do bf2 medium.

I've got a 6600gt and I run everything at Medium 1024x768. I haven't really tried anything higher, too lazy. But I can pretty much gaurentee the 5600 fx won't run BF2 at all, unless you have a super CPU like FX-55

I am running BF2 at low with a 9800pro, 512mb of RAM and a 2.4ghz processor, I can barely manage getting by with good frame rates (about 35-45 according to render.drawFps 1).

Well, your gaurentee is bad :P

My roomate can play his shit on low 8x6, no frame loss on a:

2.2 Ghz celeron
9200SE
gig of PC2100 ram.

Yeah...

Yeah...

My friend has a 1.4 ghz celeron, 384 PC2100ram, and a 9200SE and can play the game on minimum graphics just fine.

Only problem with the 9200 series and BF2 is you have to drop AGP from 8x to 4x in your BIOS, as 9200 isn't supported by BF2.

Oh, and I've seen it run on a 5200FX also, so 5500 and up should be fine.

I got it today and it runs perfeclty smoothly, and it looks good, Everything on low or OFF, textures on high and res. at 1024x768 85 GHZ It looks like haflife 2 except a little, like a trace amount crappier thanx fer your guys. :)

That card is about 5x times as good as a 5600 FX.

Really? IMO BF2 looks crap compared to HL2 and I run on absolute highest settings in both.

I think the water in BF2 looks better than in HL2 though, especially from far away. Other than that, yeah HL2 looks better than BF2

Yay! My FX5200 is getting the recognition it deserves!:D

...be happy with your FX5600, unless it's a 64mb...then upgrade...and fast...

The water looks like a poor resolution .gif...HL2 looks like real water even when I'm standing on it...
