Oh yes you can. Just right click on the avatar and push the "view image" and then "save the page as".
tada, you got the gif.

lol, I did the first part, but I can't go on 'save as', it automatically reads it as a bitmap. Lol, woo! I got it onto my desktop though - I now have this animated-eating-brown-thing on my desktop
