Graphics glitch - Need help please

I have a problem in some areas that are lighted by artificial light.

The game graphics are all choppy. I can take screen shots if you want. It is only like this in some area's but it looks like trash. If any one has any suggestions on trouble shooting this, i'd like to hear it.

If so then your not the only one, and I'd also appresiate any help on the matter, while the game is still playable it's just annoying and ugly enough to make me look good.

Discooooo.

Try deleting the HL2 folder in the steamapps folder. and then restarting the game.

my graphics have like weird lines going down peoples faces - and my gun has lines going down it seperating it into sections instead of being a smooth graphiced gun.

No i don't have that disco thing you have.

Try turning off AA and AS

Oh deleting the HL2 folder didn't work, lets hope it's all to do with Win98.

It might be, direct x 9c is super new for windows 98.

Wtf is that - btw I took some screen shots - where do they end up? I coudln't find them and I even did a search for them

they'll be in "Program files/valve/steam/steamapps/<useraccount>/half life 2/hl2/screenshots" or somthing similar.
