Graphics Issues

I've looked through both this site and others and still haven't found any mention of thid problem. I'm running HL2 on a laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon X700 Graphics card. All light sources in the game show up as large white squares. It gets really annoying when it blocks my vision otherwise it wouldn't be quite so bad. The eyes are also doing something strange. They appear as rainbow/greenish instead of their intended coloration. I'm not really sure what could be causing this, any help would be greatly appreciated. (If this is already posted somewhere else, feel free to shoot me in the face)

I don't know if that is a crap graphics card or not (I stick with nvidia), but as you said- no-one else seems to have had this problem, so all signs seem to point to an under-powered graphics card, or a dying/overheating one.

Radeon X700 is good, but the Mobility might make it suck.

I have run HL2 a few times on an Intel extreme grafix card (DirectX6 level) without major flaws. If that can run it, anything can.

Are you sure you have the latest video card and DirectX drivers?
Also, try forcing a lower DirectX rendering mode: Steam Support Link
