Recently, I have gotten into Oblivion again on the PC.
Before, the computer ran the game perfectly but now I have this strange glitch.
The screen would be normal, but on the right side, there would be thick rows of mismatched pixelated bars and they would flicker if I looked in a direction, but the direction doesn't seem to be set.

I updated my graphics card and re-installed the game but it still doesn't seem to work.

The only thing that may be the problem is that I bring the save file back and forth between this computer and another computer.

this picture shows the specs as well as shows that it can run the game.

sounds like a video card problem to me, you may want to rma it.

edit: just noticed it was a laptop, are you sure its is being cooled adequately? try blowing dust out of your laptop and make sure that the cooling fan is running. also give the core temperature of your video card.

I run oblivion on an 8600m and have to turn all the settings down.

I'd agree that it's a graphics card problem.

rma?

and how do you check core tempurature?

(sorry I'm a noob when it comes to computers :( )

rma as in return to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. in your case your laptop brand.

i think you can use speed fan to check your temperatures. download that program and get back to us.

Unfortunely, it's past its warrenty.

As for the tempuratures.

GPU: 52C
Local Temp: 58C
Remote Temp: 55C
Temp1: 51C
Core 0: 57C
Core 1: 52C

that's after the computer has been on for 6 hours.

thats with 0-5% cpu usage correct?

i would get a can of compressed air and dust out your laptop.

Make sure you let the laptop sit to dry if you used compressed air. Just in case since you don't want to fry a laptop.

Make sure you have detail settings turned down. It may not act right if you have the game set to render all the effects a desktop machine would do. Since we are talking about a laptop GPU that is a few generations old and a graphic heavy game. Did you update graphic drivers in between when you played Oblivion last and currently when you reinstalled it? Sometimes new drivers cause problems with old games since they have the new games in mind when they tweak the drivers.
