I just had a brainwave!
This wouldn't surprise me if this was answered in a weeeee smaaaaaalll bit of the forum and everyone and their aunty saw it except me so here goes;
If you can fire fast enough, (thats the big prob), do you think it'd be possible to lift yourself off the ground with the grav gun? afterall it is a gravity gun! :E
If it is possible, it could make for some interesting levitating puzzles, (remember the big toxic waste drums in hl1, and you had to jump from mixer-arm to mixer-arm? lol imagine that whilst levitating!)
I thought that the only limitations there could be are...
1) Weight. Although we see the 'push' secondary function of the grav gun pushing the buggy back onto the road in e3 2004 vid and so it could be able to lift 80kg up in the air.
2) ROF (rate of fire). If from one fire you lift 1jumps-worth up in the air, if you can't fire again due to ROF until you're on the ground again you might aswel jump
3) That dial. There's a dial to the left of the grav gun. I thought this might be a 'amount-you-can-use' dial before it needs to recharge itself. But on the e3 2004 vid you can't see it go down when he fires it alot. (it just wobbles a bit).
What does everyone else think?
