Developed by students at DigiPen Institute of Technology, Tag: The Power of Paint is a free, first-person puzzle platformer which focuses on the players’ ability to modify their environment as they see fit, simply by painting it. Enjoy a unique and emergent gameplay experience, as you traverse each highly stylized level, using your endless supply of paint and all the power that comes with it to make your way to the goal.

I've played a little bit so far, and it is really great. You can download it (for free) here

But this already exists! It's called Garry's Mod.

And you have the added ability to make Gman and Breen take part in levi loving.

Just played through a bunch of levels, I quite like it, simple but fun, and with kickass music!

:D Woot, glad you guys are liking their game. I'm friends with the artist on the team and a few of their programmers, and the artist is working with me this upcoming year on a new game.

Seems a little like Portal but with specialized paint instead of portals.

So in other words, it's a little like Portal except it lacks the one thing that makes Portal special?

It's quite fun, albeit short. It could really use a level editor.

I have a Radeon x800 Pro and it says it doesn't meet the requirements... D:

Yeah, won't run for me either.
What the ****.

Hint: Hit ~ and then type editor

*Edit* Oh, and more than likely you guys are being bit in the ass by lower shader versions. Yes the game isn't totally polished, it's a student game that had to meet a deadline, so there's tons of things that were cut or weren't as good as they could be. Dealing with system requirements is such a huge pain in the ass, and we don't have too much variety in the computers at school here to test a bunch of combinations.

I'm guessing you saw this on CO-OP too. Great new show!

I would not compare this to Portal or Garry's Mod in an attempt to discount it. The only thing Tag has in common with Portal is that both games require you to use tools to jump farther, gain more momentum, etc. I haven't played too much of it, but from what I've experienced so far, there are things you can do in this game that you very simply can't do in Portal. And it's a lot more stripped down. You can't even jump unless you have the green paint and spray it on a surface.

Here's one theoretical scenario in the game. There are two large buildings with a huge gap in between. You are on Building A and Building B is a lot taller; you can't simply jump over to get to the top of B. Here's what you have to do:

Spray a track of red paint where you will be running to jump (the red paint makes you run). Then spray a little botch of green where you want to jump off. Now start at the beginning of the red paint and run into the jump. As you jump and reach to the wall of the other building, spray blue onto where you think you're going to land. When you land on the wall, your bearings will change and you will now be standing on the wall (because blue makes you stick).

For those having troubles with the game crashing, try running it in windowed mode instead.
