I would have rather seen him as The Flash or as Deadpool again in a proper movie of his own to make up for the travesty that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Not my first choice to play Hal Jordan but we'll see how it turns out with Martin Campbell at the helm.

Seriously? The Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza place guy as Hal Jordan? You're right he'd be much better as Flash.

It could work, he's got the physique.

Only thing I would be worried about is that Reynolds is more comical, kind of like a Nathan Drake. Action hero (lol?), but at the same time he can be very childish. Well maybe not childish, just seems difficult to take him seriously.

Look at him as Deadpool. ''Okay. People are dead.'' and ''Great. Stuck in an elevator with 5 guys on a high protein diet. Dreams really do come true.'' ''Thank you, sir. You look really nice today. It's the green. It brings out the seriousness in your eyes.''

Its funny, but not really appropriate maybe? I dunno.

Ehhh it's a little too flashy and they included some big actors in it to spice things up. I don't know anything about the comics but I do know or thought I knew that THE "Green Hornet" was Bruce Lee. It kinda looks like they got Jack Osbourne and some Asian guy from the "Fast and the Furious" that acts like some kind of butler in it.

I'm pretty sure they are doing a Deadpool movie. Last I heard, the guys who wrote Zombieland were writing it.

Reynolds as Deadpool was the best part of the (dire) Wolverine movie. Until the end, where they ruined him too.
Making Deadpool lame, something of an achievement.

Movie status "Announced". Just because it's been announced and being written by so and so does not guarantee that it will get a green light. Even if it does, it's very unlikely that Ryan Reynolds will play the role now. They will probably try to put as much distance between the Wolverine movie as they can. I sure as hell would.

I'll agree on the count of it not necessarily getting the green light, but I disagree on the other points.

Reynolds is both confirmed (and very very excited) for the Deadpool movie. It would be stupid as hell of them to recast him since he's perfect for the role, and he's a relatively well-known actor who isn't taken seriously. Switching Reynolds out at this point in time would be like having someone other than Jim Carrey play The Mask. It would have been foolish.

Also Marvel is so piss-poor with both money and decisions that they're making a sequel to Wolverine, which was perhaps one of the worst movies ever made. They aren't intelligent enough to realise that they made a bad movie or learn from their mistakes.

As demonstrated by Iron Man 2.

Frankly everything that came after X-Men 2 has sucked. (For those who don't know the Timeline, that's basically The Punisher, Spider-Man 2 and 3, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four 1 and 2, X-Men 3 obviously, and Iron Man 1 and 2. For the record, Spider-Man 1 also sucked. So did both Hulk movies.)

The fact that they're making movies now that are just advertisements for other movies (which is all Thor will be for The Avengers, and arguably all Iron Man 2 was), and the fact that they are throwing out movies left and right.

2011
Deadpool
Captain America
Thor
Luke Cage

2012
Nick Fury
X-Men Origins: Magneto
Doctor Strange
Spider-Man Reboot
Ant-Man
The Avengers

Unknown Planned Release
X-Men Wolverine 2
X-Men First Class

That's right. They're looking to shit out four+ movies per year.

I agree with the above poster. He gave me my hat.

Except I don't think you're stupid. I haven't seen the second Iron Man (Big sadfaces :(), but the first was brilliant. And I enjoyed Spider-man 1 and 2. At least, compared to the third, which I would have happily shat all over Parker's face for.

Wasn't ever much of a Green Lantern fan. Never got introduced as a child.

To be fair, I don't think Wolverine was that bad. It was definitely less than I expected/wanted, and slightly annoying in places, but I don't mind that I paid to see it at the sinnyma.

It's a nice hat, after all.

Yorick seems like the sort of guy that exaggerates his dislike of well-received movies just to hate on something popular. I think that's stupid. The irony is that calling him a stupid guy is an exaggeration! That's to say I didn't really mean it, just that your taste is stupid. Sorry. ;P

I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I like to enjoy films for what they are. The Punisher was wildly entertaining, and Wolverine was also quite fun to watch. Even Fantastic Four 2 held my interest. Sure, these movies all have terrible aspects, but I try not to be so pessimistic that I don't enjoy the effects, fight scenes, radness, and general badassery. It's fun and cool, but I will probably never watch them again.

I actually quite liked Iron Man the first time I saw it. I'm a big fan of Robert Downey Jr and I thought as far as an origin story went, the first half or so was pretty good. But when it came to the big villain of the movie, it fell far short. I can't forgive terrible villains. A lot of the movie was completely improvised, and it definitely shows.

Which brings us to Spider-Man 1 and 2. Spider-Man 1's villain was essentially a cartoon and what a disappointment that was. While aesthetically and even as far as the actor goes, Doc Ock was great in Spider-Man 2, they created a villain that had both a ridiculous plan and absolutely no motivation. Not only did they go with the terrible cliche of putting the love interest in danger (for the second time), and making it personal, but Doc Ock had absolutely no reason to kidnap her.

Not to mention the ridiculousness of him creating a sun in his apartment / basement.

Also no one in the Spider-Man movies has ever had any chemistry.

Wolverine was a complete pile of rubbish. Let me say one thing. To erase his memory, Stryker shot him in the head with an adamantium bullet. If that doesn't sum up how much that movie sucked, I don't know what does.

You're confusing me with Samon.

Oh certainly they all had something good to them, but when the bad outweighs the good, I can't even enjoy them. I am aware that this makes me a neurotic perfectionist asshole.

complaining that the Green Goblin was kind of cartoony
You...you are aware we're talking about a villain who once stole Spider-Man's toilet paper just to fuck up his day, right?

Anyway, back to GL, I'm not terribly interested. I don't care for Hal Jordan. Now, if this was a movie about Alan Scott as the Green Lantern, shit yeah. But it'd be a movie without any real conflict, because it'd be two hours of Alan Scott in absolutely no danger at all, from anything, just wreckin' shit. And maybe there'd be a scene where you see a brief glimpse of Batman and his mouth is hanging open at how cool Alan Scott is. Yeah, he's so cool even Batman is his fanboy.

Hal Jordan though...eh. This movie gonna have Sinestro in it? I'll watch it if Sinestro's in it. And/or Kilowog. But not for Hal Jordan.

Well we saw Kilowog so that's one part of the deal. Trailer doesn't really make clear who the villain is.

oh
