I think there is a lottery, but the junk mail about it is a scam. You have to enter through the official channels. I suspect the chances are low and you should build up a skill rather than rely on a lottery ticket.

If I relied on lottery tickets, I wouldn't work, I'd just be sitting in my home waiting to win £10 million.

Or if your country is really so bad and wartorn, you can try to claim asylum in the US.

Dude, it don't matter if you get a green card, because its not like you have anywhere to live, and plus its pretty difficult trying to immigrate into the US from over the seas. You being 17 and probably no skill/trait, the doubt of you being allowed here is VERY high. Just end your battle trying to move to the US, move somewhere in Europe, I am sure its a lot easier...

Chances are slim and by the way the US government issues a lottery itself, and it's free.

Lot's of foreign exchange students at my school. It's weird, too.. I mean.. it's just Kingman. It's not special or even halfway big or anything.
