I just beat Fable, and I enjoyed the game enough. However, I do have a few complaints, and I wanted to see who agrees with me. Here they are:
1. I beat Fable.
The fact that I beat it already says something. I only put 16 hours into that game, and I took my freaking time, too. A game that short can't be called an RPG.
2. You don't REALLY age.
Your character starts out as a 12 year old kid. A cutscene goes by and he's a teenager. Another cutscene, and he's an adult. After that, you start to age. But who cares? The really interesting part of aging in real life is skipped altogether in Fable. I wanted to see my character grow into a puberty stricken teenager, with awkwardly long limbs, pimply face, and a cracking voice. I wanted to see him get uncomfortable erections when he was around girls. It happened to us, God dammit, why was he spared?
3. You sorta age, but NO ONE else does.
You meet a 50 year old guildmaster in the beginning of the game. He stays that age for the entire game. What the hell is that? Most of the main characters are like that (Thunder, Whisper, Lady Grey). I know it would have been hard to put something like that in the game, but still. It takes away so much from the experience.
That's basically it. I mean, I could go on about how I don't like the loading times, silver keys, the dumb story, and the lack of villages with more than 25 people in them, but I won't. Even with all these problems. I still love the game. At least I tell myself that.
