I normally like this game, so far I'd say it's the most realistic driving simulator (which I enjoy). But now I'm having to do all the rallye races and the game is really, really starting to piss me off.

If I so much as graze the other car I get a 5 second penalty, yet I was just going into a corner early and the other car t-boned me and caused me to spin out and he didn't get penalized. Now why can I touch no part of his car, but he can t-bone me into walls?

Even if they bump into you! At the start of the race I'm on the inside of the first corner, and the other car will come into my lane to take the proper line and bump into me, I get penalized and he just speeds off.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I'm just getting really annoyed.

I got hooked on that game when my friend bought it, I was a Forza addict that absolutely loved the way GT4 played

GT4 is a great game, shame the AI is so incredibly shitty and stupid..

Your talking about Gran Turismo arn't you? Am I the only person here who has ever driven a car? Project Gothem is more realistic than Gran Turismo and thats pritty much an arcade game.

I was addicted, but it does get damn annoying, I quit when I had to do a timed lap around that German track that takes 10 minutes to get around. So much as grazing the grass = fail.

That german track = Nurburgring, greatest racing circuit of all time, petrolhead heaven.

yea....I'm surprised there aren't more reports of smashed controllers after that track....;)

I love that game, I also had a lot of trouble with nurburg nordschleife in A-International license. But the funny thing is in the Super License which is supposed to be harder I liked it a lot and did it quickly, mostly because that merc you were driving was perfect for that track, and it's handling was phenomenal for it's speed.
In any case I also have the GT F1 car.
My first real serious race car was the Nissan Skyline.

PGR is an arcade racer, not a driving simulator. GT4 has the most realistic use of everything, the only thing I don't agree with is their e-brake. Forza isn't terrible but the grass in that game is pathetic, rather than making your car act like a car on grass they just make it so when you hit grass your speed almost instantly drops down to 30mph.

the nordschleife is the most overrated track in the world.

The nordschleife has everything combined into one track, making it so in order to get the fastest time the car has to be able to do everything well. For example, the Veyron weighs over 2 tons and runs the same time as a 997 GT3 because the gt3 doesn't have the top end the veyron has for the back straight, so the veyron makes up all the time it lost in the turns.

and the nurburgring is my favorite course, I can run sub-6 all day in the prototypes, however I'm most proud of my 7'16.xxx run in a STOCK slr on sport mediums, I know I could go faster but getting a perfect on the course is damn near impossible.

Don't get me wrong, I love GT4 it's just the rallye courses are so stupid.

...and the sounds that the cars make are terrible (droning)

GT4 isnt really a sim. Its dumbed down so most people can play it well enough with a pad. The pc sims (gtr/gtl/gtr2, netkar pro, rbr, lfs, rfactor etc) are far more realistic. I think it was actually someone on this forum who told me about gtr when i was looking for a good pc racer over a year ago, now i just cant play gran turismo any more.
I just dont like the nordschleife. I think if spa was 5 times longer there would be no contest between them.
