GTA IV Official Box Art In-Hand

The original release date for GTA IV has come and gone. But we all knew by now (hopefully) that we?d be waiting till 2008 to play the latest hit in the crazy sandbox franchise. We got a surprise this morning from Rockstar though. We thought we had the game in our hands. Read on for more and images?

This morning we got a box at our offices that felt a little heavy. We open it and there are 6 copies of GTA IV! We look closer and see the dreaded ?RP? and realize we?ve been sent the boxart sans THE GAME!

Anyways, we thought we?d share with you the official boxart for both the PS3 and 360 versions. We however won?t show the images of us crying when we realized these were dummy boxes.

I like the middle one the most for cool value. Although sexy lady has her merits. No points for the sniper one.

Too similar to all the previous ones. They should do some stylised ones in a Saul Bass style or something.

I like it. It fits in with the rest, whilst being newer and better. I too prefer the middle one. The top middle one, that is. None of that lame PS3 'no extra content' bollox for me.

You're lucky that's all your missing out on. I was expecting MS to pay loads of cash to get this a complete 360 exclusive

I dunno it seems kinda underwhelming to me. This was their chance to take the series in a new art direction and it seems they passed on that. I'm not saying its bad, just a bit old hat at this point. Besides you can't even see the chick's gobongos with all those letters in the way.

Yes, the article was recently edited to say that they're just place holders for now.

Yeah, that would have been retarded box art. They were all terrible. Hopefully the real one will only feature the big IV on a black background.
