Is anybody else 360 gaming on a Widescreen monitor?
I purchased this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254005 along with GTA 4 a few days ago.
I've tried every resolution and the game still looks like crap.
Other 360 games look perfectly fine to me.
I don't know, maybe i expected more out of the games visuals then i should have or maybe i am sitting too close to the screen so that i can make out every little imperfection.

What resolution/settings do you suggest i should run the game at?

It looks pretty bad on my 19" LCD. It's not widescreen, but like you pretty much any other game looks decent on it at 1280x1024. In GTA4 though it's like I'm standing in a jaggy, blurry painting. I think it might be issues with scaling or something. Either that or I'm just sitting too close to it since it's on my desk.

Annoyingly the game somehow manages to look way better on my crappy old SDTV from a couple of meters back.

What HD VGA cables are you using? The official ones from MS?

I play on a 19" monitor at 1280x1024 and it looks fantastic to me. Probably because I don't have absurd expectations about what's possible these days.

Im playing on my samsung 19" widescreen with the offical vga adapter.

edit 1400x900 :)

I'm on a 21" LCD Widescreen, 16:10, running the 360 at 1280x768
Bastards wont give us 16:10 resolutions...

This. I can't ****ing believe that my 1680x1050 resolution isn't being updated and added to the supported resolutions. How the bloody hell can it scale 1900xwhatever it was and not the previously stated res? Bloody whores.

This isn't a resolution suggestion, but have you fiddled with the ingame display settings? I think the game looks much better with the brightness at full and the contrast set down a couple of shades.

I'm on a 19" and it looks pretty damn fine. Seems to be a matter of preference whether you like GTA IV's visuals or not anyway.

What's NOT a matter of preference is that MS seriously need to add some ****ing 16:10 resolutions. >:/

22" widescreen monitor here, works like a charm. Very pretty indeed.

Well, i've tried every resolution i can select and it still looks somewhat shitty to me.
16:10 support would definitely be nice but i doubt that Microsoft is ever going to add it.
I found a number of posts dating 2+ years back regarding this and Microsoft still hasn't bothered resolving this issue.

My monitor doesn't like the top resolution, so I'm running it on the 2nd best one available with widescreen mode enabled of course. I believe the clarity of the picture is best on these settings when compared to others. What about yourself?

I'm running at 1280 x 1024 in Widescreen. I wish they supported 1680 x 1050 because it's a fairly common resolution now...

19'' LCD HD TV Widescreen, looks pretty damn fine. Needs some series AA added to it though, but the framerate is poor enough as it is in some heavy action places that I think that wouldve killed it to a slideshow.

I tried 1280x1024 in widescreen mode and a few others. I don't remember which one I was playing on. I do remember that a couple of the resolutions wouldn't fill my monitor and left a black space to the right of the image.

If only we had 1680x1050. :(

Do you have a DVI enabled monitor?

I'm running the game on a 24" LCD Widescreen and it looks incredible with a HDMI > DVI adapted connector.

1920xWhatever
