I love this game!

I got True Crime and GTA this week, and I must say that GTA makes TC look like a bicycle with training wheels.

I just got done hijacking a taxi, then picked up some old lady and drove her to the mall. After she paid me and got out of the car, I ran her over and took the rest of the money. lol :)

That's GTA for ya :)

The world is your oyster, or a giant road-kill spree.

In my opinion, the only thing Xbox has going for it is Halo considering, for a change, it's exclusive to that console. I said it 10 months ago and I'll say it again - the only reason I'd consider buying an Xbox is for Halo, and now, even that's unnecessary because Halo is on the PC.

Yep, and so is GTA.

Well GTA is on the PS2 so that rules out the PC too IMO.

But Halo and GTA are much better on the XBox aha :D

GTA has always been a game to play with a pad, sitting round the tv with your mates. m&k, alone at your pc blows in comparison (imo of course :) )

I prefer GTA on the PC because the guns can actually be aimed rather than using that cumbersome lock-on system... and I would give up the extra bit of precision in driving with the analog stick for that.

Hopefully since the exclusivity contract with Sony ran out and they can go multiplatform they will have the XBox version of the next GTA game actually released around the same time as the PS2 version.

Meh, I preffered GTA:VC on PC over PS2, what's so different about it on Xbox?

Nothing - it just makes XBox even more worthless than it already is.

The only thing that's let it last so long is because there's titles like GTA, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Tomb Raider etc. that are multi format.

I'm amazed by some people's claims that they have a device with an aiming capability better than a mouse. I once watched my friend play GTA with a gamepad. He takes out the m4 and starts spraying all over the screen while the guy is standing 2 feet away from him. I was like "WTF are you doing? Try the mouse dumbass"

sure... it's on x-box.... but can you play VC MULTIPLAYER!?!?!? u can w/ the PC version! EAT IT!

Yes, but it's not supported offically. GTA III had a 3rd party MP mod aswell. :)

THERES A MP MOD???? :O:O Well that clinches it, I wasn't so sure about buying this but that just pushed me :D

Buy it anyway. The multiplayer is not offical, just a bunch of folks made it possible to connect thru the game. It's a game not to pass up regardless. :)

I know I'm on a limited budget though, I was gonna get VC, CoD or MP2. MP2 is out of the picture now since a mates going to 'lend' it to me ;), CoD can wait since I'm looking for somethin to keep me busy for awhile and CoD is short and too linear for me. Other than that I just want a new drumkit, which is about twice the price of a game to pay the deposit, then after that about $6 weekly for god knows how long :D that can wait too, VC here I come!

Come on guys, GTA isn't about accurate aiming - a mouse isn't needed, unless you're completely inept with a joypad. Having some form of auto aim doesn't detract from the game either - even with a mouse it was clumsy on the pc.

I have both GTAs on the pc and they're nothing special. Especially compared to the Xbox version ... which has slightly improved visuals and, more importantly, all the benefits a console provides (big tv :D , the immersion analogue and triggers add, playing cop killer with your mates \o/) Even the ps2 version owns the pc GTA.

XBox GTA is the definitive version - imo :)

(Last time I checked the MP mod didn't work well enough to play - will have to check it out again)

Yep, but they still can't reach the resolutions of the PC version. Hah.

But my pc is shite and runs GTA 3 like a slideshow, at least on me Xbox i might have some fun playing it. Looks like i know what i'll be getting for xmas now :)

You can use your own music on PC as well, and uploading CD's to Xbox is painfully time consuming >_<

Mouse and keyboard in a game that needs a joypad, -1 point :)

GTA looks more solid on a tv too - the cities feel more believable and do look better, +1 point :)

Being able to sit on a sofa with your mates and take turns, +10 points \o/

anygame is better with mouse and keyboard, point

better pc's have batter graphics, the graphics on a high range pc will be better than xbox, point.

4 mates playing smash brothers on the gamecube, 10 points to the gamecube.

long live gamecube.

'anygame is better with mouse and keyboard, point'

so not true, driving using a keyboard ...... complete shite :/ (same with fighting, adventure and sports games. Also any game that uses a 3rd person view ... moving needs analogue :))

'better pc's have batter graphics, the graphics on a high range pc will be better than xbox, point.'

It looks better on my big tv than on my pc, even at max settings/ resolution (looks like a tiny paper model on my 19" monitor :/)

'4 mates playing smash brothers on the gamecube, 10 points to the gamecube.

long live gamecube.'

We agree there \o/

No, console verions can't be modded per say. And since the pc MP mod was from the mod community, Xbox won't have multi.

I read something about making custom soundtracks for Xbox, but I haven't really looked into it that much. :)

I just meant taking it in turns in the classic (been doing this since the original :) ) 'who can kill the most police before getting busted' game.

Having to exchange seats and headphones etc makes this far too impractical when using a pc :(

Actually...I do that all the time on the PC.
No headphones, and two office chairs on wheels...problem solved. :D

Is worms 3d any good? - have such fond memories of the original :)
