Yeah, I checked out the first Beta Event... I think it was about a year or so ago. Wasnt too impressive back then, but I have high hopes.

Also, you'll still need to buy the game in-store, but I believe the current plan is that there will be no monthly fee... which is a first for an offical MMO. No to mention that it'll be VERY hard for them to have upkeep on the servers without charging a monthly fee, so I'm interested in how their going to handel that.

you purchase updates every 6 months. how much, i dont know. so i imagine that and royalties from buying it in stores.

Ahhh, I see. Well, if their "updates" per 6 months are ~$50, then they should've just had a monthy carge.
But I have a feeling they'll be more like $20 - $30.

You should really get more indepth with alot of the interviews.
20% of these guys created battle.net, starcraft, d2, wc3, d1, etc...
They have the architect of battle.net. Battle.net and all of blizzards game have by far some of the best netcodes I have ever seen on any game.

Now its been years since the oringal battle.net. These guys put there head togeather.
They can run multiple versions of the game on the same server. Thus allowing them to be uploading a patch and allowing people to play them coverting it over and giving people the "Update Message".
They say they use....alot of new technology for the servers and handling users. Most likly a very good netcode(this game ran smooth on a 56k, not once did it go unsmooth cuz of my 56k). You can really see some of blizzard in it.
The first beta event was very fun but overall not impresive. The WPE was....INSANLEY FUN. Over impressive!
According to what I new a while back(not updated info(like 6 months). Thoughout there whole development the server was only down for 2 hours).
The lighting on the game is phenominal. The model design looks nice as hell. It uses the same shading(well how it looks to the user) as HL2. Though it dosn't look as bad(shadows don't draw on entites in HL2, but in HL2 all physical objects are entites thus you see my point).

There will be no monthly fee.
I guess they have some pimped out mapping tools. There going to release new high quality expansions every 6 months or so(You will not have to buy them in any way). Trust me from E3 to WPE there was..such a drastic change. The whole game was soo beutifull and diffrent. It seems like all the maps where completely redone 100%. They all looked sooo damn nice. Me and my cousin were...addicted its ALL we could and wanted to play. Funnest game ever. Sure as hell will steal all those D2fans(Some d2 gameplay, though altered to allow some nifty things).
You can get a ton of spells but only 8 can be taken into any arena\quest. Before entering upon a quest you party up with people(or henchmen cpu controled). It's also easy to start up clans. You resurect people.
The 8 spell thing is very nice. It can really cause your team to plan ahead on what spells each of you will have. I believe right now there is 150 spells for each player that you can obtain. Now you can only take 8 of those into a battle. . Your spells will get better nor worse. I mean onetime I couldn't decide. Take my "cost 15 less mana on less spell" or a trust spell to kill some things.

The feel and the gameplay of the game is out of this world. Absolutly brilliant. Camera is perfect to.

From what I saw at the WPE this game is Brilliant and even if they only had that I woulda gave it an A++.(The world was already...HUGE).


Though there is one other fully free fully 3D rpg.. I mean fully free, it aint retail.

Aint that good overall(though there releasing a new version sometime that is a drastic change in performace, graphics, etc..). It's firstperson\3rdperson and well for fully free it's kinda good. Nothing to really do in the current version.

But you know planeshift could work out, if the community got to be as dedicated as that of valve, everyone should atleast try to play the game , but because it's free it could grow and grow and grow and become betterthan it is now, so javert just play some time and help them out.
